Ok.  There’s still tomorrow before the Blog Idol contest officially closes, but I’m not sure I’ll be at my desk much tomorrow, so I’m waving and saying “au revoir” tonight while I have the energy.

This year the contest has taught me how hard blogging can be when the ideas aren’t flowing, the time is scarce and the motivation is at a low ebb.  And, as Chris says, there may be business model questions if you believe “time is money”.

Now that we’re nearing the close, I think there’s lots of things that could have and should have been said.  Our 6 topics covered a lot of ground, and I’m not sure any of us did them justice.  I know I didn’t!  Each and every one of them is a big topic on its own and even more so when looked at as a group.  I wish I had had more time to dig into convergence and green (moldy?) information.

Regardless of the results of the contest, this has been an interesting event for me.  It got me back into volunteering for standards committees – something I did for 20 years but then dropped out of for the past decade.  Maybe next year I’ll have a lot more to say about cloud computing from real life work with the experts!!

In a way, the timing of the Blog Idol contest was a test by itself – it includes tax time, which was fun for me this year.  It was the same time as spring arrived and we had to resist the idea of being out in the sun instead of writing.

This year the postings were different again from the first and second year, and frankly they were more my style!  It’ll be interesting to see what twists and turns there will be for next year!   Best of luck to everyone who has been posting and commenting, and congratulations to the winners whoever they may be!   See you for a beer on the 20th I hope!
